Today in class, we watched a video about landfill. We learnt all about the process of a piece of rubbish and how it ends up in the ground, I did not know that first everything goes to a place where they figure out if the rubbish can be recycled or not, the stuff that can’t be recycled, goes to the landfill site, where they bury it 16 metres under the ground! Then once they’ve covered it with a very thick layer of dirt, they plant trees on top, to breathe in the carbon dioxide that the rubbish makes. But carbon dioxide is not the only gas that it produces, it also produces methane and that is pretty bad, but in some countries, methane is used to make electricity, so that is the goal now for Australia. We also learnt which bins to use for different objects. I believe that if they can figure out how to turn methane into electricity, then Australia will be all good! What do you think is a good suggestion, to making landfill more environment friendly?
In the individual Men’s Archery, Australian (Taylor Worth), was up against Venezuelan (Elias Malave). It was a very close game. The way a game of Archery works, is that each player has 4 shots at a bullseye target using a highly sophisticated bow and arrow. and then it’s the other player’s turn to have 4 shots. There were 5 sets and at the end it was a draw, with both athletes on 32 points. They then took it in turns shooting 1 arrow at a time and Taylor got 3 10’s in a row! So it was a well deserved win for him! Elias Malave was a bit disappointed, but he knew he had tried his best! Taylor now goes on to the Archery Men’s final, so we all wish him good luck in the next round!
Today in class we learnt what reviews were and how to do them. Then we were asked to review something we had recently seen, watched, been or in my case, read! So this is my review on Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 7.
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid – The Third Wheel
Greg’s Middle School
At Greg’s school, there is a valentine’s day dance and Greg does not have any go to with until the last minute where his best friend Rowley saves the day by telling him that a girl named Abigail does not have anyone to go to the dance with so the 3 of them decide to go as a group of friends together! Once the get to the dance though, it all falls to pieces.
My Personal Rating
This is a great book, probably for 10-15 year olds. I liked it because sometimes I can really connect with Greg having the problems in his life. I also enjoyed reading the little comic strips in the book. Definitely recommend it!
My Star Rating

So start looking for it today and all the other Diary Of A Wimpy Kids!
Today the grade 5’s went over to the juniors to read them the picture story books that we made. My picture was called “The Visit To Lock Ness” I did all my pictures by hand and I believe you will soon be able to borrow it from the school library!
This is the last week of the SBC for March and this week we’ve been asked to choose a topic to blog about! I have chosen My Future! Before we start here are some links to some fortune telling websites!:
I think my future will be pretty much the same as now, only I hope that in a few years I’ll be in high school! When I’m an adult, I hope have a job as a teacher for a primary school like this one! If not, I’d like a job making video games, movies and maybe computers!
Hi everyone, this week in the student blogging challenge we’ve been told to write a post about where we would love to visit and why, this is mine.
The place I would most love to visit would have to be Fiji because I’ve heard that the oceans there are really blue and I would love to swim in them! Also, from pictures I’ve seen the beaches look really nice aswell and I think people have beach houses, on the beach!
